Join Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York for a deep dive on the publicly funded early care and education system, which serves around 127,000 children under the age of five in New York City. You will learn how CCC makes the data open to the public and easy to explore on data.cccnewyork.org.

During the presentation, we will cover many aspects of publicly funded early care and education that pertains to availability of seats for children of different ages; enrollment patterns across centers, schools and family-based settings and across different programs including universal pre-K and 3-K; availability of full-day, year-round care essential for working families; and prohibitively high child care cost and affordability crisis for families across income spectrum.

After the presentation, there will be a demo of our online database which allows exploration of all the early care and education data by borough, community district, and zip code, as well as site-level data on our ‘Map Community Resources’ tool.

Presenter: Marija Drobnjak, Senior Research Associate for Data Resources
